2024: A Year of Celebrations, Great Collaboration and milestones!
As we close the books on 2024, we are proud to look back at a year filled with measurable progress for the OCPP community. Thank you to our members and to all OCPP enthusiasts for your engagement this year. Together, we’re building an open, sustainable, and interoperable EV charging future.
Celebrating 10 Years of OCA
Our 10th Anniversary event was a three-day celebration filled with an insightful conference, networking, an exhibition and field visits. Have a look at the recap!
OCPP Recognized as an International Standard
An historic achievement for OCA in 2024 was the approval of the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) as an IEC International Standard (IEC 63584). Join our webinars on January 22nd and January 23rd to be up to date about the IEC approval of OCPP! A second important milestone: OCPP was also approved as a CENELEC European standard (EN 63584). Both validations underscore the global recognition of OCPP.
Plugfests Across the Globe
Our Plugfests in the US, Germany, and the Republic of Korea brought together developers, engineers, and industry leaders to test interoperability and foster knowledge exchange. These events provided opportunities to identify use cases, refine implementations, and strengthen the global OCPP community. Do you want to join the next Plugfest? You can still register for the Plugfest in Antioch, California. Registration closes on January 12th.
Advancing OCPP 2.1
The development of OCPP 2.1 this year was a pivotal moment, with features that align with emerging industry needs, including V2G capabilities and DER Control. A thorough review process engaged stakeholders worldwide, including a public review in which non-members could contribute to OCPP 2.1. We are working hard on the release.
