Succesful Event in Paris15 October 2015
With OCPP 1.6 in its final stages of development and with access to a new compliancy test tool, OCA participants gathered for three days in Paris to learn from each company’s experiences in implementing OCPP 1.6 RC1.
The final version of OCPP 1.6 is now ready after three days of meetings, testing and work with a new compliancy test tool by 18 OCA participating organizations gathered in Paris. The final version of 1.6 is now being readied for publication, while the test tool undergoes its finishing steps. The Open Charge Point Protocol is the widely adopted protocol to manage network communications between electric-vehicle charging stations and central operating systems.
With work done on OCPP 1.6, the next step will be development of OCPP 2.0. Participants looked at the scope of a previous 2.0 Release Candidate alongside recent market and technology developments. Based on this discussion, an action list has been created and work has begun on an updated OCPP 2.0. Completion is expected by 2017, with capabilities designed to meet the industry’s latest developments and requirements.
OCA would like to thank G2Mobility for hosting the event on the beautiful location in central Paris and is grateful to all the participants for sharing their experience and knowledge as we continue to improve OCPP.
