News / Looking back on OCPP 2.0.1 & 2.1 Plugfest North America

On May 13, the Open Charge Alliance welcomed participants to DEKRA Automotive Test Centre of Excellence for OCA Plugfest North America. A focused day of hands-on interoperability testing, technical exchange, and collaboration. Bringing together experts from across the EV charging ecosystem, the Plugfest provided a practical environment to test implementations, share knowledge, and strengthen alignment around OCPP 2.0.1 and 2.1.

Developers, engineers, charging station manufacturers, CSMS providers, software stack developers, communication controller developers, and technical OCPP teams came together to test their implementations in practice. Through round-robin testing sessions, participants were able to validate interoperability, identify issues, improve compatibility, and exchange technical insights directly with peers.

The strong engagement throughout the day once again highlighted the value of Plugfest as a place where open standards are tested, improved, and advanced through real-world collaboration. But also as a valuable environment to network, share your insights, gain knowledge and get inspired.

A big thank you to all participants, our hosts DEKRA, and contributors for sharing their time, expertise, and energy. Events like these play an important role in advancing open, secure, and interoperable EV charging infrastructure.
