Events / Webinar: Meet the new 2025 Working Groups

During this webinar, the (interim) Chairs will provide information about the OCA working groups for everyone who is interested in joining. We will update you about all the projects that we will take up in 2025. We will give an insight into what topics will be discussed during these task groups and why this is important for OCA and OCPP. In the end, we will have an open discussion and answer all your questions. You can learn about these working groups, which have been set up recently:

Security task group

This Task Group had its first meeting on February 12th with more than 50 participants. The group will revise the security specifications of OCPP, proposing updates accordingly. Topics to be addressed include the Cyber Resilience Act, Security Agility, the Network Time Secure (NTS) protocol and many more. As an OCA member, you can join the task group via Causeway.

Commissioning working group

OCA will kick off this task group with a first meeting in February 2025. This group aims to investigate whether OCA can define a specification for the commissioning of charging stations. The connection of the charging station to a CSMS can be relatively complex and lacks standardization. This working group therefore aims to simplify and standardize the activation process. This would be especially valuable for end consumers who aren’t professionals and install their chargers at home.

Networking / Local Controller task group

This working group was set up in February 2025 as well. The Local Controller is mentioned as a concept in OCPP. The working group aims to develop use cases with clear requirements of how a Local Controller should behave, including offline behavior, the possibilities of a Local Controller acting as a “Local CSM” and evaluating the already existing draft proposal for a routing extension to OCPP from the Networking Task Group.
