Following the IEC approval of OCPP 2.0.1 in December 2024, OCPP 2.1 has now been submitted for fast-track adoption as well. The IEC voting process for OCPP 2.1 Edition 1 (OCPP2.1ed1) has started.
Liaison Membership for IEC experts
In the light of the OCPP 2.1 Fast-Track IEC Adoption, OCA is looking forward to further collaboration with IEC experts who wish to contribute to the development and maintenance of OCPP – for a smarter, more sustainable, and safer charging infrastructure. About OCPP 2.1
OCPP 2.1, released in January 2025, builds on the capabilities of OCPP 2.0.1 with improved and added functionalities. It is designed for smarter, more efficient, and user-friendly EV charging solutions. For example, it offers support for ISO 15118-20, a new functional block on bidirectional charging, a new functional block on DER control, battery swapping and new authorization options.
