Vendor Declaration of Conformance
What is a Vendor Declaration of Conformance
A Vendor Declaration of Conformance Report – or VDCR -is a comprehensive test report generated by the OCTT that vendors can generate for their internal use as well as for buyers. It is based on a complete PICS form for a specific System Under Test (Charging Station (Software Stack) or CSMS) and contains the conformance test reporting of a successful uninterrupted test run (and excludes performance measurements). It is digitally signed by the OCTT, to ensure that the report is indeed generated by the OCTT and not altered. In addition, information about the signed firmware designation of the certified device is printed on this test report.
For Buyers/Legislators it is important to note that there has been no independent check on the Vendors Declaration of Conformance, meaning for example that:
- there has been no independent check that the Product listed on the Report is the actual product that has been tested
- there has been no independent check that there have been manual interventions for corrections during testing
- there has been no independent check that the System Under Test actually works.
The Vendor Declaration of Conformance Reports will not be reviewed by OCA nor will they be listed on the OCA website. Should Vendors want to include products on their OCPP Conformance Certificate, they can provide their VDCRs including logs to a Certification Lab – if applicable – as part of an OCPP Product Family. For more information on this, please refer to the OCPP Certification Procedure.
How create a Vendor Declaration of Conformance
To create a Vendor Declaration of Conformance Report using the OCTT please follow the following steps:
- Download the latest version of the PICS
- Fill in all required fields
- Preparing the PICS for uploading to the OCTT:
- the PICS preparation can be done with the OCTT Toolbox
- This step includes a thorough verification of the PICS. If this is not correctly validated, it will not be possible to use the PICS mode.
- If the PICS is accepted, a download button appears, allowing you to download an .opi file (OCTT PICS Import file).
- In case that you think that the PICS is correctly filled in, but it is rejected, please contact OCA via OCTT support
- Upload the PICS in the OCTT: the “prepared PICS package” (.opi file) from the previous step is created based on the vendor PICS and can be uploaded to the OCTT (Configuration Page, tab: PICS). Based on the PICS, the list of test cases is filtered in the OCTT. Only the applicable test cases for this DUT are selected.
- Setting specific values in the configuration based on the PICS. Some test cases must be run with specific configuration values. For example, test cases for smart charging are run with A and / or W based on the PICS. This is automatically filled in by the OCTT and cannot be configured by the tester.
- Enable the “PICS mode” in the Configuration Page of the OCTT
- Run all test cases
- Once all test cases are succesfully passed, go to the Report page, select the configuration used and download a “Certification Package”. Please note: this option will not be available in case one or more required test cases have not been succesfully passed.
- This Certification Package can be converted to a Vendor Declaration of Conformance with the OCTT Toolbox
- Upload the Certification Package
- Once all checks are done, the download button appears and the Vendor Declaration of Conformance Report can be downloaded.
